Most modern art is experimental.
While paint technology improves the mixing of various mediums, materials, thinners, and glazes can be unpredictable.
We have paintings from our own multi-layer, mixed media technique that are still in good shape ten years after creation.
One was displayed in a public place with daily light exposure for a decade and looks as good as the day it was finished.
As is the case with even famous contemporary works, we cannot warrant the long-term life of our paintings.
They might last for generations. They might however delaminate in twenty years. Only time will tell.
Delamination is the chief concern. Some paint manufacturers suspect isolating varnish layers may not hold paint in the future.
Our paintings begin with client content request, then a visit to our private photo database created by two, award winning photographers.
From these images we print an ink-on-canvas, mounted image then use it as the template of an overpainting.
Why?
Compare an ink print to a painting. Our finished images are far richer in color, tone, depth, and color-contrast.
We interpret and improve composition. The final result is compelling in ways a print cannot achieve.
Below, we see the print and the painting.
